Here from GA... Car is a lightly modded Prizm. Been here a week, no job, living with my GF and her son. New to the enthusiast scene, always loved imports. Need help with the build, need some new friends.

Not sure how to post pics just yet. I will try when I get all of my things moved in... I have to admit though, Ive faceD alot of skepticism about my car. The biggest reason I chose the car, is because of its options, and because its the underdog of all imports and domestics alike. Nobody likes my car, nobody will drive it and people see it as a peice of crap. I dont care, Im gonna build my car from the dirt up. Heres my cardomain URL : http://www.cardomain.com/ride/324493...prizm-sedan-4d

That's cause it's a Prizm. Most people under estimate cars like that. I knew a guy that had a Ford Pinto that was smoking everyone a long time ago at Martin Road. He never told any of us what was in it either. So yeah as long as it's your car and you like it that is all that matters. I catch a lot over my car as well cause of what I have done to it. But it's my car, my style and I make the payments. So do what you gotta do man.

Being an enthusiast doesn't warrant a particular type of car or a particular type of style. It's about making something your own and the enthusiasm you share for doing it. And it's not limited to a particular genre of racing, showing, crusing, or anything like that. There's a particular personality trait that binds us on a core level. At least that's what I've learned over the last 10 years.

And at Huntsville Car Scene, this is the place where every enthusiast from every genre in North Alabama is welcome--two-wheeled or four, on-road or off-road.

You can right click on your pictures to get the picture url and then use the button to paste the phone into a post.

SHO is the High output motor Ford put out for those cars, They called the cars SHO. I think they made an Escort SHO too but not positive. If you need any help man I'll help ya with what I can. Geo was a division of GM so not very hard, just the low end models. You can do some fun things with them, never seen one race tho but have had one air born out in a field lol.

He's referring to the Taurus SHO, a model they had back in the day (and reintroduced recently) that came with a more powerful motor, stiffer suspension and better brakes. I considered buying one back in the day.

I owned a 1989 SHO with the original Yamaha motor. What a cool ride. 5 speed tranny. It was a fast car in their day. They kept detuning the car year after year. Ford changed the motor to Yamaha heads only. But those first cars were really unique. I still remember toasting a BMW M3 one night. Guy could not believe a Taurus smoked him., He gave me a thumbs up. Cops never gave the car a second look. The perfect sleeper.

The white Pinto was Buddy Rawls and it had a 351 Cleveland in it

Was it white? I thought it was primer gray? I guess cause I never actually seen the car in the light plus this was about 10-12 years ago, a lot of beer has passed through me since then lol.

Cool info. I didn't realize you saw all that action back then. That was before I got into the hobby around here.
