Just Curious..

I've been talking to some of you all i'm sure in the "introduction" thread.. Just curious as to know if the Evo owners are friendly with the Sti owners? 'Cause I know up here in Colorado, they are rivals haha.

I think we pretty much get along, I know I'm guilty of talking it up a little bit, but there isn't any bad blood that I'm aware of... However I don't get out as much as some of the guys. Ray, always tries to include the Subi guys in our meets though.

I think if there is any rivarly (if you can call it that) would be the Zs, Evos, STIs vs the Honda crowd. Not any bad blood of course but you can just kind of feel it if you own one of these cars.

But, the STIs and Evos have meets together.

If there's any drama between the Mitsu and Subie camps, it's definitely very low key because I haven't heard of any.

Some of the other groups may have issues, but you find all that junk on facebook and other places, and for the most part it just stays there. In real life, there's rarely any beef around here.

^What he said. It's usually on an individual basis if there is any. And more of the scene tries to weed them out.

Friendly competition though... that is welcome lol

Yeah, the honda people here kinda keep to themselves. There are some super quick ones here though.

We got some nice ones but not really quick. The "street racing" scene is full of hatch backs but from what I understand, unless the Evo, Z, Sti, muscle type cars come out... there's not much racing going on. I'd prefer the track anyway.

Well... actually... I just park hard.

The street or 'informal' events as I like to call them definitely have a large presence and have a long engrained history in this area. From what I recall, most of the hatchbacks race as much as any of the other cars, sometimes more. It's been a few years since I've really seen any of this, so this may have changed.

Competition is loved, but no hate. Autox and track days..that's where it's fun. "Street Racing" Is that like one step down from a dyno queen? Shows zero about performance of a car as a whole and takes 0 drivier skill. Whoever has the fatter wallet wins. Autox and track involves driver input besides "push right pedal" haha. Come on down!! We all nice folk down here i reckon :spit in can:

There is friendly banter but nothing malicious that I have ever seen.

And if I saw it I would probably solve it then and there. The Subaru guys have a good following around here and slowly the Evos and other Mitsubishi cars are coming out (when they run) and we are working on joint meets. It is nice to have a good group of people. And I also go to Nissan meets and other events when I can.

It is more about the people than the strict guideline of cars to me. That's why I try to get out to everyone and invite them to meets that we (NAMO) host.

There will be some more collaboration in the future but I just haven't had time to plan with the Subaru leadership as much lately.

I've heard stories that some roads have curves.

Come try it out when you come down here. Just check HCS and see what events we're all hitting. And I'll tell you where to find all the afterhours action if you want to see that.

So you "race" on a curvy public highway?

What does that have to do with your original incorrect assertion?
