Towns with good Cruizin' Strips

It's no longer possible in the some cities because of the laws and ordinances prohibiting it, but in a lot of the cities around Huntsville, there are still areas left to cruise.

I know Ardmore, Cullman, and Scottsboro still have areas that are open to cruise, but I'm sure there's still other cities. Anyone have more insight into this?

my cruise routes are always rural . i dont go to any town. newmarket- mooresmill- plevna - elora tenn - most all of lincoln county- never encounter any law and love the heck out of the attention of the natives as i rattle their windows idleing by , dont need to be able to go 220 mph as some people judge top speed as measure of a cars muscle. indy cars go over 220 but a good lawn mower will drag one all over the place

the idea of "cruising the strip" sounds cool in theory, but unless you find a REALLY good place to do it, it usually kinda sucks. from my experience, most of the towns where people cruise the strips tend to be small towns where there's nothing else to do. you usually dont see very many fixed-up cars at all. and you gotta be careful when mingling with the locals, or you'll end up with unattractive, underage girls trying to hook up with you.

the best strip i've ever cruised was pigeon forge during the mini truckin nats a couple years ago. well, other than the cops being a little overbearing.

When Athens had the square open it was the sh*t back in the day, but that's no longer...

Fayettville sucks really bad to cruise in especially if you got a Alabama Tag, they seem to play with you that way, I got pulled over running 45 (the speed limit) He said my car was too loud, and I was only running 45...

4 other cops passed me before he did and didnt say a word but the 5th one...Guess he was bored ~Sad World These Days~

Ardmore------> Is worst then Mcdonalds Play House

Hope your doing well too Samir!

I think that Russelville had a strip at one time, not sure if they do anymore. I like the idea of a strip to cruiz, but like the others said in the posts above, they usually turn sour after a while. I got into a really bad engagement one time in Cullman, with a few folks that got mad when my car beat theirs.lol Typicall I guess, but they said that I should not have come to their town, BLAH BLAH BLAH.lol But I think that if Hunts-Vegas decided to make one it could probably work, Maybe.

I finished high school in Athens and heard about that, but didn't have a car since I was barely 16 when I graduated.

You know, the funny thing is, Huntsville actually does have a cruise strip--it's called University Drive. I've seen tons of nice cars up and down that road. I've even done it myself. The activity on University drive is a good indicator of what's going on in the city.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with a long line of cars taking up the middle lane and just doing the speed limit. Now, if we took up all 3 lanes, that would be a problem.

Now back when alot of your parents were dating, used to cruise up and down Bankhead Parkway, then they put no parking signs all over. especially Sat and Sunday during the daytime...nighttime was more looking for a "parking" spot. :-) and less cruizin.

Have you ever seen just the turn out for the HARDEES CRUIZ IN?lol I know that if we made University the official strip, it would be over for University
Dr.lol Not only would we have most of the Import, Euro, Muscle, Minitruck, etc... we would also have all of the Big Body, Big Wheel, etc.... That would be enough folks to line all six lanes of University.lol

I finished High school in Athens back in '92. I use to cruiz the square with my club in my '84 cutlasswith switches. There where a lot of clubs back then that came from different places to cruz. Yea, it was the s**t. Cruzin, is still fun for use older guys to.

Athens used to have the square. it was good, although I only went twice before they pretty much put an end to it. Fayetteville used to as well, but like its been mentioned after the cruise, its apparent no one is welcomed there. Ardmore still does it, but it feels like to me if I pulled up out there in the suburban I'd have more problems out of people than I would anything else. Cullman I have heard about but I have never been down there to cruise. From what I understand there's plenty of pit lizards, or in this case "strip" lizards, and I have a g/f...I would just get in trouble, whether I did anything to get in trouble or not. The king of the cruise spot is still Panama City Beach...yeah!!

A friend of mine lives up there, and it seems that part hasn't changed too much.

Hey, I think I graduated around that time too. Either that or 91. You've probably heard of my brother, Sandip.

I can't believe I lived in the town that had a great cruise spot back in the hayday and I missed it. I mean, all I needed was a ride...and a camera.
