Local Cars/Bikes in Magazines

I just realized yesterday after talking with some people that there are A LOT of local cars featured in nationwide print magazines. If you know of anyone who is local and has had their car/bike in a magazine, post up the make and model as well as the issue of the magazine. If you've got a scan of the article, post that up too! I think the results will be surprising.

Here's two from local car shows:
57 Chevy 2 door hardtop - Classic Chevy, August 2006

69 Corvette - Vette, March 1994

I need to get you a picture of the 57 when it was in Car Craft for burnout of the month. Maybe one day I'll actually get a feature.

Also Matt's rhd hatch is in Honda Tuning this month, he's acutally on the top of the cover as well.

I'll love to see the pic. You don't see many 57s doing burnouts.

I heard about Matt's car, but I've heard different magazines--super street, modified, Honda tuning, but I can't find the feature on any of their sites.

I might just take my camera with me while grocery shopping.

Any type of print appearance for the most part. Most photos will usually mention something in the caption, even if there isn't a related article.

Kerrys Blue Mitsubishi Mighty Max had a full feature in MiniTruckin.

Also that guy with the red. Standard cab Fullsize that is rediculously sick was shot for Truckin, Sport Truck, Street Truck and I think Super Chevy. Not sure if his features have run yet though.

Also I remember that guy that has the Grey Mustang Coupe with the newer model supercharged cobra engine, dash, seats, etc... was featured and I think on the cover of one of the mustangs. I think his name on here or HSV was GreyMare. Also the TURBO Deuce chevy 2 nova has been featured a few times I think.

What issue was this in? A lot of the magazines have their features online.

From this thread:
http://www.huntsvillecarscene.com/showthread.php?t=1680

"...65 jetstar 88 has a picture in the jan. 07 super rod magazine."

Super Rod magazine doesn't exist anymore online, so I can't find the article.

Well you didn't specify wether it had to be in the possession of the current owner when it was featured.lol That truck has accually gone through 2 seperate owners since its run, and it is still in fantastic condition.

The write up and feature on Greymare was in, and this is just a guess, 5.0. Its got its own thread on HSVracing, but its been a while back.

Not sure about the mags ofr Shane though. I work with his Mom at the Hospital and she always gives me all the latest details on his Racing stuff. I remember her bringing in the magazines not to long ago, but can't remember the names of the Mags. I will ask her when I see her.

I am sorry I can't download pictures at this time. But, here some local guys in magazines Brain Wilbanks, Harold Davis, and Phil in Custom Classics Trucks this month at goodguys Nashville. Brain also has a feature come out in Car Kulture Deluxe early next year. Greg Blades build a 69 camaro it was super chevy. Big Oak and I built a 55 dodge wagon that was feature in street rodder and finished in the elite eight for the riddler award, and also won best kustom at goodguys nashville 2008. And my daily driver 1941 GMC has a feature coming out in ol' skool rods next year. Brain and I won shoot at the same time by a nashville photograher Butch Pate. There are a lot of people who have super nice rides here, but choose to go to shows outside of the area due to all the BS at shows here. The shows like saginaw has NO AWARDS AT ALL and bring anywhere from a 1000 cars to 1400 cars every year because the people are true car people the love to hangout and talk cars and they never talk down on anyones else right it is total respect for the workmanship it there ride. The awards brings the devil out in a person because they award and thing they are better than everyone else. "except for JAY MACK he truly a good person." I have been building cars since I was 13 even when we attended Athens High School "SAMIR" didnt thing I remembered did you. I have been shows in almost every state my father has been running a show since the late 60's. There plenty of cool cars in our area to have a massive show but we have to get pass the BS. I help with the Athens Show we foresee at least 2000 cars this year. Because it all about fun and you can't even try to judge 2000 cars.

Any more info on those features would be great. I found most magazines keep their features online, so we can track them down and post them here.

Wow, all I can say is wow. I was a shadow through high school. I can't believe anyone even remembered me. I've changed quite a bit, haven't I? Well, except for the hair, lol.
