just a question jay... i see you have tuners, domestic and muscle car... im guessing tuners will be imports like civics, preludes, integras etc... domestic will be like cobalts, neons, focuses and V6 mustangs, V6camaros etc and muscle cars will be V8 cars of course such as vettes, mustang gt/cobra, camaro z28/SS right?

or will they all be mixed up?

You're killin me, smalls. lol
Yes, you have it right! Imports will be classed as above, as will domestics and muscle cars. Muscle cars more along the lines of the classic HP monsters, not necessarily late model, but not excluding late model either.

An escort would be in domestic class. A mustang would be in domaestic class, unless its modifications deemed it eligible for the muscle car class. V8 cars that are Chevrolet, Ford, Pontiac, Dodge, Chrysler, etc. are all domestic cars...
Cavaliers are also domestic cars, but can be in tuner class depending on modifications, just like an escort can be. Don't confuse "tuner" with "import"

Do you mean the V8 cars would be muscle cars?

I dont know how much expense is involved with adding additional classes but something to think about would be adding a few classes to make a lot more people happy. Maybe splitting Muscle Cars into Classic Muscle and Modern Muscle, Domestic into Domestic RWD (Cadillacs, Box Chevy's and so on) and Domestic FWD (Escorts, and whatever), or something like that. I don't know...but more trophies make more people happy it seems. Certainly not a "everybody gets a trophy" thing but one where at least comparable cars are competing with each other.

BTW I am LOVING the "Best Suspension" thing...I might have to take a couple wheels off to really show mine off for this show!!!

you just nailed my point on why i asked this... muscle cars now have two classes they can hope to maybe place in... "muscle and domestic"... cavy and escorts havce a chance to win in two catagories "domestic and tuner" so that leaves a civic with one chance to win in "tuner"... see the point im kinda making... thats why we had "domestic compact" and "import compact"

oh well thats the joys of living in alabama i guess... love for only domestic cars and classic cars... ugh

Its the Hooters Slogan. They've given one out at every Hooters Show I've ever participated in that I can remember. I even won it back in the day with my red truck. Seems having a bed in the bed of a truck lined with red crushed velvet and red neon is kinda tacky...yet unrefined. lol

No, I mean just because a car has a V8 doesnt necessarily constitute it a mucle car. Its first and foremost a domestic car (if its "American made") and the modifications, etc. are what would determine it to be "muscle"

It wouldn't be too much of an added expense to add a class and split muscle into "Modern" and "Classic" muscle, but the added expense comes into play with then having to add "Import Tuner" and "Domestic Tuner", "Full Size Classic Trucks" "Late Model Full Size Trucks", and so on and so forth. When you start splitting classes, you have to do them for every class - otherwise you're going to have people complain. With that said, people are going to complain either way! lol

I think we made the classes diverse enough to make it competitive. Just like you said...its not an "everybody gets a trophy" show. There's got to be something to institute competition...otherwise its a free for all and the show turns into a sham.

With that being said, don't think I am dismissing your suggestions. I will be putting on several more shows at several other venues this year, and your suggestions here about the muscle and domestics will definitely play a part in selecting a classification table for those shows.

im just saying its a bit general... tuners=imports, domestic=all american made non-muscle, and muscle=muscle old or new, fuel injected or carborated

that, at least to me, made a lot of sense cause there are a lot of imports, a lot of muscle cars and a lot of other general domestic cars... its hard to break up domestic cars into compacts, rwd domestics and all that jazz... just not a huge following like the others

Just curious about the truck class. All full size trucks competing together? Top 3 or just Top full size?

Yeah, all of the full sizes will be competing together. Top 3 won't be at this show, but if wehave a big turn out its possible that we can add top 3. It all stems on the participation at this show.
