'94 Honda Civic engine?

Does anyone know where I can find a used '94 Honda Civic engine? I have a friend whose daughter messed up the engine in her car and the repair job was going to be $1100. I'm guessing that it would be cheaper to replace than repair. So if any of you know of anywhere she could find one please let me know and I'll get with her. Thanks.

Which engine is it? If you don't know the code is it a EX or LX?

i looked around and found a couple but they were a lot higher than your repair cost, anywhere between 1300$- 2200$ sooo i would either look around a junkyard for one (it is amazing what you will find there) or just pay for the repair

You can get wholesale rebuilt engines for a low as $450, but these aren't complete and you'll have to add all the accessories and such. And something tells me they're not built as well as the original ones either. My Accord's f22 was priced at $450. I highly doubt that engine would hit 200k miles.
