Happens all the time. That's what happens when event organizers aren't checking Huntsville Car Scene when planning their event.

Hypnotized I think it's an import driven car club so more of those type cars would be here I guess. Where the other one is probably your typical Alabama classic and muscle car cruise in.

I am a muscle car guy all the way but I like to see a mixture of both at car shows. The older guys dont like the imports for some reason.

I think this comes from two different reasons, one is that most import guys won't talk with the classic car guys, which makes them seem not as social, and two is that the social cultures are definitely different where the import crowd is younger and single and the classic cars guys are married and have grandkids the age of the import crowd.

That might have been one of those, 'that's just sick that those imports look so good' type of gestures.

And beyond the war being over, there's a Nissan plant in Smyrna, TN! All my Altimas were made there.

Well, everyone is free to their opinions, and this is bound to happen. You can't let it bother you.

For every one person that does this there's ten others that are cool.

Yeah, I think that I thought that the import guys were going to be "young and dumb", but I have come to realize that we are just young. A lot of us own our own houses, are married, have children, etc. I think that a lot of the muscle car guys just view us as a different breed, and I'm okay with that. I think we relate more with their generation than they do with ours. My Dad loves muscle cars, but he had a healthy respect for Japanese and Euro tuners. He used to have a 240Z with a 280 motor in it, so he feels my passion for modding the altimiter.

Well said.

What's surprising is that if you approach a lot of the classic car guys, they are actually interested in the newer cars, but are a bit intimidated to talk to the youth because of the differing social cultures. There's a guy by the name of Bobby that's still around in the scene from time-to-time that was talking about putting an s2000 motor in an old pickup truck. Now how cool would that have been!

I don't think it's necessarily the cars on which there is a division, but more on the differing social cultures. And to bridge these is as much of a challenge in the car scene as it is in any other hobby, or even within a family. It takes a willingness to understand and be open from both sides, and I'm happy to say that 90% of the enthusiasts in the local scene have these qualities.

Lol I would figure since it's named after a Ford engine, they would go after them. But yeah this is why I stopped going to local judged events that are just in for the profit. To much politics and favoritism. That's why I like free or charity because if either politics or favoritism shows up, it doesn't matter. Either it was free or your money went to charity. Sometimes it's still aggravating

Now my problem with imports is I no nothing about them to judge them. I just look at them and see which one is better looking. So at our show I just have to learn the difference between a civic and evo. I do know the real diff between them but you know what I mean.I know some about .com 99 civic due to I have one that is what it is a old green booger.
