Wow, I never even heard of this until today. Not much information on the route. You got any details? It would be interesting to see them come through here. If they're on 65, they'll probably take the interestate the whole way.

we received this email at work, but when when you follow the link at the bottom it says the alert has been deactivated. I don't know if they canceled the Huntsville activities or not.

Community: Fireball Run Adventure Rally Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Huntsville, Alabama (September 29, 2011) The Huntsville Police Department will be working with the Early Works Museum to close roadways for The Fireball Run Adventure Rally to be held in downtown Huntsville on Friday, September 30, 2011. HPD will begin closing the following roads at 6:00 a.m.: Fountain Circle from the north side of the entrance to the parking garage behind the Engineering building (Colonial Bank parking garage), north to the curve adjacent to the northwest corner of the Municipal Parking Garage A. Also, Gates Avenue will be closed from the Municipal Parking Garage A entrance west to Fountain Circle. No parking garage entrances or exits will be blocked. Sidewalks and roadways will remain open to pedestrian traffic and access will be maintained to all government facilities and other businesses in the area. All streets will be reopened by 3:00 a.m.

The Fireball Run Adventure Rally is a cross country vehicle rally that runs through Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi starting on September 24 through October 01. The racers will stop in Huntsville and journey to the Early Works Museum where the drivers will perform a challenge before leaving for their next stop.

The rally is also called the "Race to Recover America's Missing Children," and teams work to raise awareness of missing children in the U.S. as they travel from city to city.

I did. Thank you for posting about it. Lots of cool people and cars. And lots of pictures and videos to process and write about. When I'll have time to do that I don't know.
