Anyone have access to an alignment rack?

I miss not having access at the shop i worked at back home.

I wanted to see if anyone has an alignment rack i can use to align some of my cars

i've used the Snap-On setup before
i'd assume the Hunter's or others are similar
i'm willing to pay, but i gotta do my own work

i may do some front end work on my TA next year, so thats when i will need it for that car, and would like to check out my wifes vette now if i can

i was told i may have access on RSA, so i need to check that option as well

just wanted to see what's out there
be good to hook up with some car friends

once we move, i'll be building my own shop (can't wait)

That's awesome how you know how to use shop equipment. That's one thing that shops can appreciate.

Here's a link to some resources including a person in Athens that has his own machine at home:

let me check out the link
using the newer machines (emissions testing/dyno, tire changer/balancers, alignments, AC charging, battery load testers, etc) isn't really that bad
most are more intimidating by the looks and which buttons to hit

the key is keeping them all calibrated and clean

It's a "Hunter 311 alignment machine" from the source thread:

Well....
if anyone has an leads on any shops in the area looking to sell or upgrade i would be interested in exploring that option

right now i have a lead on a Sun system, gonna wait till spring to pull the trigger on that deal. it's pretty much the same one i used in the past.
although trying to coax my friend into upgrading his so i can buy the old one, certainly not easy to do in this lovely economy

this will certainly eat into the wifes supercharger funds, but it's a tool we need with our fleet of cars

One of the things you could do is figure out who sells to the shops and see if they've got any used equipment or customers that they're trying to 'upgrade'. Then you could walk in and make an offer that will help everyone involved.

We got a quote on a new hunter setup. It was around 30k. Not sure if we are going to get it just yet, but if we do I will be sure to let you know. We are currently exploring the used route.

yeah some of the machines are pretty pricey

i don't need a super fancy one with the scanners and all, although i am seriously trying to persuade my friend to upgrade the one at the shop back home, but with this ever so lovely economy... not gonna happen

right now i'm just browsing around, but will probably get more aggressive this spring
there were a few in the ATL area, so may need to make a trip to investigate

race ramps has a nice set of alignment blocks made for turn tables
there was one kit with them and a machine i saw on a shop tool website
all new equipment too (not snapon, hunter, JB, sun, ranger though) so i get leary on them

From all of the research that I have done it seems Hunter is the way to go. Their new system is very nice. Including the remote camera for working on the rear and not being able to see the main screen. There are tons of really nice features.
