Interesting. Apparently BMW has had the top spot in India for a while and Audi ousted Mercedes from the #2 position. They were having their celebratory party at our hotel.

I can't believe all the high-end segments have had double-digit growth in this economy. Where's all the money coming from?

I don't think the economy is as bad for the every day responsible individual as the media leads us to believe.

Oh, I don't look at the media. I just use my own economic sense just looking around. I know we're faring much better than most, but I still can't justify a 10% increase in high end cars around town unless they've gotten cheaper or the others cost more now.

Huntsville has one of the best tech job markets in the country, so it's a little sheltered from the longest recession ever in history, but if you're out of work it can still be tough if you're not in defense or tech.

Very true. If you don't have a piece of paper that indicates you have a degree, you're out-of-luck because you are thrown into a job market where supply exceeds demand multi-fold. If you're intelligent and without a degree, this is definitely the wrong town.

But I still don't see how BMW, Mercedes, and Audi each sold 15% more cars locally last year. Even with Lexus, Toyota, and the likes losing significant sales percentages.
