Request to introduce...

I am Ronnie, & I moved to Madison from the NW GA. area last Sept. I 1st heard about Huntsville Car Scene from you, Samir, at the car show back in Oct. at the Baptist church on Baulch Rd. I had seen the signs posted about the show, & just showed up, & met you that day. You may remember my Starlight Black '63 Pontiac Catalina (or you may not ), hence my user name. It is a 2-dr. ht w/the 389 engine, bored to 30 over & a 400 lift cam (which gives it pretty good lope); it has tri-power carbs, & factory 4-speed. I have learned about some "gatherings" from your site & am really looking for Springtime when the cruise-ins start. I am anxious to see as many cars in this area as I can, & am excited about the fact that they all will be new to me, since I am new here. I hope my old "Hoss" tin Indian will be a good addition to what's here. There aren't many '63 Catalina's -- esp. tri-power 4-spd cars being redone, so it's usually a lot of fun taking mine. But I enjoy seeing them all -- from old rods, to the newer muscle cars, & everything in between. If I can figure out your instructions on how to post pics, I will try to post a couple of "Old Hoss." Thanks for the communication; hope to see you again soon - MrPontiac63

Welcome Ronnie! I remember our conversations because your car was something completely new to me. Too bad I haven't published the pictures from that event or you could link directly to them.

If you have any problems posting photos, just post here and I'll help out however I can.

Thanks. I think it turned out pretty nice. I enjoy driving it. Most everybody who sees it says, "Now, you couldn't get it from the factory w/tri-power, could you?" And I say, "Yep! You could, & I did." Then they say, "But the 4-spd wasn't available that year, was it?" And I say, "Yep! It was, & that IS a factory 4-spd." So it's fun getting people "educated." Looking foward to meeting you guys, & seeing YOUR rides, too! I'm a an old gearhead from way back!

Awesome!

And to link them here, just click on the Share button in the upper right, then 'Get a Link'-->Embeddable Links-->Forums. Copy the small or medium sized link into a post here and the photo will magically appear here!

And you can do this with any photo on HCS, and post them in almost any forum on the Internet using the same steps.

I remember your car form the show. It was brilliant. My favorite of the show. I am a sucker for tri powered Pontiac's. It just reeks coolness.

Welcome Ronnie. I can't wait to see the '63 Catalina. I had a '62 Grand Prix that I was really fond of, also a tri-power. Dozed off on the Long Island Expressway coming home from a mid-week Army Reserve meeting in NYC, and wiped out the drivers side. Sad day in 1971...

Thanks. Man! THAT was a terrible thing. It makes my skin crawl to think about doing something like that to mine! I really keep my distances when it's out on the street! ha!

I posted some pics of my '63 Catalina in another thread, but since I learned how to do it, it's so much fun, I thought I'd post a few here for those of you who requested. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Look forward to meeting you guys & seeing YOUR rides!

Thanks! Appreciate the "look" you gave it. Yeah, a lot of people don't recognize that; they want to make the GTO the 1st one. But the Catalina was Pontiac's factory hot-rod in the 2 or 3 years before they came out with the GTO. I love my Cat! He's a Hoss!

The year the GTO came out, the 2+2 was the quickest boat ever.
