Good machine shop in hsv?

What I have is a 360 in my little dart. But I want it to be a 408 this year. Who in huntsville can do good work on my heads? I know R&R but the last time I checked they don't do port and polishing on heads. I can do the bottom end myself I just can't do the heads. Thanks Mark

Not in Huntsville & do not know if they are still in business, but you might try Competition Engines in Bessemer. They do excellent work. I used them several years for a racing motor. The guy that owns it is Tommy Sadler I think. Huntsville engine has a good reputation also.

I have my own personal guy that does my heads, I'd suggest R&R but you say they don't do that work. Don't know where to point you.

Andy at Auto Sport on Conception st hsv pricey but does very very good work. ....................................Holt's in Hartselle on main street does a lot of race engines.................. Lee Hurley also very pricey in Birmingham Alabama...............................Next is a little drive from hsv{2hrs} is in Crossville 10C. The Mondello shop and school . The owner Joe has passed on but the outfit is in the very good hands of his heirs. They did the heads for a Nail Head Buick for me. I thought they were reasonable on the price for the large amount of work done. They are beautiful .................................................. .................... Last is the Eddie Posey garage just off university on Washington street. he does good work but is always covered up . It might be hard to work you in.......................................Last is Mop Head {I dont know his real name} in Fayetteville Tenn at the Lincoln county auto parts............................ I agree with Hoss 429 who said go with the Aluminum heads......................................... World products make some very nice LA heads. They come for normal and W2 heads. You will come out way cheaper and make more power. Good Luck....
