What's the best car show May 25th for '30s Hot Rod?

Would it be Point Mallard Park or Hooters?

Coming up from B'ham

I might stay for a cruise in too.

Thanks,
AA6

We always have a good time at Hooters, but point mallard may be more your speed. A&W Car Show is the night of the 25th, located in Huntsville on Sparkman Drive, and its always a very good time with a laid back atmosphere as well.

That evening (4th Saturdays) Jack's on the Beltline in Decatur has their cruise-in starting around 5pm until the last one leaves. But this cruise-in usually only has 20 to 30 rides so far. Trying to build up to more. Marsha

Appreciate the replies.

Looks like Huntsville has their act together as far as cars go.

Hope to make it up there over Memorial Day Weekend

If your looking for a cruise in that evening be sure to check this out. It's a great mix of late model and classics.

Depending on what you've done to your rod, you could find either one fun. Post a picture of it and we'll give you a better idea.

You can't go wrong with the Point Mallard event as it's the second largest show in the area. The only thing you'll have to watch for here is the heat and the chance for rain. Either one will affect the turnout and how much fun you can have. But with the giveaways and the amount of cars to see, you still can't go wrong, even on a super-hot day or one that threatens of rain. The typical turnout is 550+ with 900+ in peak years.

The Hooters show is much smaller (<50), but there's also the Hooters girls. There's usually a good variety, and a car like yours will be unique and have people talking. If you enjoy talking to people, this might be a better bet.

And if you want to make an evening of it, my uncle owns the Baymont Inn and Suites in Madison that's right off the highway and mid-way in between everything. Just tell him Samir referred you and he'll give you a great rate on a great stay.

Oh, it's almost double that. It's a hard event to cover each year!

This is a great event that's put on by the same group that puts on the one at the Dodge City Jacks. Parking is the only thing that really limits the attendance here, but there's always something good to look at.

Samir, the May (balloons) Pt Mallard event is probably 250+ rides, that is parked at the end of the road. Lots of trees and the water on the right.

It is the July Pt Mallard - TN Valley event that could have as many as 1000 rides, parking in that big open field.

Both Pt Mallard events are great with a variety of rides.

Oops! Yes, you're right. I stand corrected. I forgot about the two events now being done by the same organizer.

We thought it was very good. Had more cars, I believe, than previous years. Lots parked in the open field to the right, on the water side (us as well, next to the water, was only there 1/2 day). Beautiful day; good temperature. I wish I had a count.
