1300hp or STFU!!! (PIC HEAVY)
Ok guys. Even though I am not really doing BoostFab anymore I figured I would post MY build thread in this section. That is if it is ok with Samir.
I finished up the big throttle response Supra (project: RE-build on here), so now it's finally time to get started on my own. The goal is as the title states 1300hp all boost. This is an expensive project that's for sure, and it will take me a little bit of time. So I bought this car a couple of months ago and it is basically stock. It had ETS 4" FMIC, RMM DP, Blitz catback, intake, and a Koyo radiator. Looks like I have a long way to go. Before I started on this I had to make sure that this is the car I wanted. I drove a friends GTR for a week and thought I would just sell the Supra and buy one, but then I got back in my stockish slow Supra and fell back in love. Riding in my brother's 800hp Supra was fun, but I can't let little brother steal all the fun ![]() When I picked her up ![]() Getting to cruise before the winter ![]() Cruising with my brother. ![]() Friends over to keep it company lol ![]() ![]() ![]() So I noticed the timing belt was missing a little bit so I went ahead and just did that real quick along with replacing the fender, cleaning it up, and painting the wheels. ![]() ![]() Drover her for a little bit and decided it was time to start on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

With the HP in mind, what are the supporting mods to get you there?
Like fuel, pistons, rings, crank, rods/bearings, turbo size/brand, injectors, rail, intake, fuel line size, pump? Head work, valve size/brand, who is doing the work? This car a six speed or are you going with a auto built 400? If its a V160, what clutch are you going to use? One piece driveshaft? You keeping the power steering and AC components? What management system? I have a HKS Fcon for sale if you are interested. Cheap. Sorry for the questions, just curious.

I have actually changed my mind quite a bit on this one. I have decided to do a decent street build on this one. There is a huge difference between 1000hp and 1300+ from a financial aspect. I also want to be able to enjoy this everyday. With this car being a targa I would need to spend more time with chassis reinforcement so if I decide to shoot for these numbers I will get a hard top chassis.
With the HP in mind, what are the supporting mods to get you there? I'll give you a low down on the setup I will be using if I pick up a hardtop car. Like fuel, pistons, rings, crank, rods/bearings, turbo size/brand, injectors, rail, intake, fuel line size, pump? Fuel: Triple Walbro 450lph fuel pump, true dual -10 feed lines, with a -8 return, ID2000 injectors along with a aeromotive regualtor Engine: CP 10:1 pistons with upgraded wrist pins, carillo HD rods with CARR bolts, stock crank, GSC s3 cams 10.8 lift, GSC beehive springs, aggressive porting of the intake, modifications to the relief valve on the oil pump, billet tensioner Head work, valve size/brand, who is doing the work? As far as porting of the head I was doing all the work and using a friends flow bench to measure. This car a six speed or are you going with a auto built 400? For a setup like this it is more efficient to go with a GM auto. I would more than likely go glide before the 400 as it wouldn't really be a street car, but for streetablilty a 400 built by ATF would be ideal. If its a V160, what clutch are you going to use? If I were to do this on a 6spd I would use the Tilton triple carbon clutch. One piece driveshaft? Driveshaft shops 3.5" Chromoly shaft works amazing You keeping the power steering and AC components? If I kept the car as a street car, yes I would keep both. That's the advantage of 2j's. What management system? I have a HKS Fcon for sale if you are interested. Cheap. The only EMS I will use for my own personal use would be ProEFI. It is worth every penny. Sorry for the questions, just curious. No worries. I don't mind going through these. I enjoy it. |

I have read really good things about the ProEFI. I didn't even look at this when I was doing my car. I went with the AEM V2, but when Windows 8 came about, I upgraded my laptop to it. I didn't know that the software on the V2, wasn't compatible with it. I couldn't make any changes to it, which kinda sucked for many months, but the overall added changes were a huge improvement. Much needed. After all said and done, I am still happy with the reliability and very minimum issues with the car, since the completion. GL on your build man, I will be checking back pretty often. If you ever need a lending hand, I would like to come over and wrench on a MKIV. Of course with gracious approval. LOL
